At Hope Harbor, we believe that caring for people also means caring for our environment. Each day, our children clear their own plates and sort uneaten food and kitchen scraps into our special "Chicken Bowl" rather than sending them to the landfill.

Until now, these scraps went home with staff members to feed backyard chickens and other animals, giving leftover food a second life while helping children learn about stewardship, sustainability, and food systems.

We are excited to expand this tradition into a community partnership.

Families with backyard chickens, pigs, goats, or active compost systems are invited to participate in Coop Catering by taking home our daily “Chicken Bowl” (a two-gallon bucket) at pick-up and returning it at drop-off.

Interested in joining the rotation?

By participating, you can help us reduce food waste, support local animals and gardens, and model environmental responsibility for our littlest islanders.
